About Airport Welding & Mufflers

Airport Welding & Muffler can trace its roots back to the 1930’s in Carnation, where Richard and his father George ran Pioneer Farm Service. In 1948, the family moved to California and opened Corona Iron Works. Two years later, they opened Somerville Service Station in Santa Anna. The station changed hands in 1955 and Richard and his father went back to Corona and opened Corona Welding. Desiring a quieter lifestyle, Richard moved the family back to Washington in 1972.

Richard’s interest in flying brought him to Harvey Airfield in Snohomish. This led to the opening of Airport Welding & Muffler Inc. In the spring of 2018, we celebrated 46 years in business! Currently, there are eight full or part-time employees, including Owners Richard and Peggy Somerville, their son Rick (Manager), their daughters, Beverly (Manager) and Lucinda (Bookkeeper) along with grandson Matt (Lead Technician). Our technicians include: Curt and David, both are graduates of Snohomish High School. Curt has 25 years experience and David has been with us for 5 years.
